Happy New Year to everybody! Here’s the first 2008 edition of 1001 Cats Blog Carnival. Scheduled for mid-December, delayed by my unexpected and long vacation, but finally published today, together with my thanks to all authors and with my excuses for making them wait so long.

Julie presents My kitteh is skeered of blow dryers, part 2 posted at Velvet-Rose.net. The video is quite funny. It must be genetic: all cats fear blow driers and vacuum cleaners.

Mitch McDonald presents Does My Cat Have Ear Mites? posted at FYI About.com. A simple way to check that out.

Sidhusaaheb presents Southwards bound: The Chosen One posted at I, Me, Myself. If you didn’t know, yes, kitties can smell a friend at once.

GrrlScientist presents MeowMeowMeow: What Are These Two Cats Saying? posted at Living the Scientific Life, saying, “What do cats talk about when humans aren’t around? This amusing streaming video of two chatty cats includes a translation for the cat-imapired.”

Karen Shanley presents There’s a Whole Big World Out There, Kid posted at Karen Shanley. And what do you think Finn does when he gets his moment of freedom? He wonders where to go first, and he ends up inside again! Big world, full of bad guys, I know.

Lucynda Riley presents three articles, all posted at The Crazy Cat Woman: Bengal for Adoption , Interesting cat facts, and Big Black Cat up for Adoption. Did you know that there are more that 300 Bengal cats for adoption right now? If you don’t have $2000 to pay for such a beauty, you could consider adopting one.

200motels presents The Ballad of Frankie Lee posted at 200motels.net, saying, “A Cat and Dog in Hurricane Katrina (Poem)”

Joana presents Isis’ New Sweater posted at Nanashi-Inc.net. I’m sure Isis feels grrreat, you can see that in her eyes. Good job, Joana!

This is all for this edition. The carnival will go on in 2008, after the unexpected break we had in December. We promise to be on time from now on. Please submit your blog article to the next edition of 1001 cats using our carnival submission form.

@Hair Drier Video — that’s a mean thing to do to a cat! I must admit that’s a nice looking cat though.
