My Cat Loves Paper Bags. What About Yours?

Posted by admin on 07 Mar 2010 | Tagged as: Cats Small Talk

Long time, no see. I hope you all had a great start in 2010. I didn’t have too much time to write here lately. I’m glad to hear some of you miss the cat blog carnivals we used to host. It’s possible they come back soon with new adventures from our lovely cats.

For today, I have a special post featuring my Russian Blue cat (known as The Cat) and The Bag from a birthday present I got from a friend earlier today. Here are the photos:

Cat won the bag

Cute, isn’t it? Well, if you want to sleep the night after you get a present wrapped in such a cat-suitable paper bag, don’t let the bag and the cat in the same room over night. Believe me, paper bags can make a terrible noise when provoked by playful cats.

How To Get Best Cat Insurance

Posted by admin on 21 Oct 2008 | Tagged as: Pet insurance

Best cat insurance is easy to obtain, provided that you do some preliminary research of the insurance market, to see what options you have available in your area or in your country. Cheap cat insurance is not necessarily the best one, as there may be significant differences in the claims and covers. Medical insurance for cats can be useful, especially if your cat is old, or if it has health problems. The biggest issue is that you may encounter difficulties in finding the best cat insurance conditions in case your cat is already ill or old. In such cases, insurance premiums are usually very high, and it is possible that no company would accept to let you buy insurance for your cat at no cost ever.

Aiming For Best Cat Insurance Cover

Be careful what the insurance you are going to buy covers. It is important that you read the whole contract. I know insurance companies have huge contracts, but they contain clauses that may cost you a lot of money if you don’t pay attention from the very beginning. Should you be looking for cat insurance, pet quotation is the way to go. I’m sure you can find a lot of insurance brokers who will be happy to help you for free. Of course, usually insurance broker services are free for consumers, because they get paid by the insurance companies.
Major risks you may want your best cat insurance cover: kidney diseases, all kind of surgery, cancer, chronic diseases, broken bones, car accidents, or other kind of travel injuries. I don’t know if you can also cover cat allergies, but you can ask and see what is the best insurance deal you can get for your cat.

Compare To Select The Best Cat Insurance

Comparison is the smartest invention of humankind since long time ago. Due to our nature, we tend to compare things, services and even persons, in order to make sure that we select the best for our needs. How else could we be able to make choices, if not by comparing variants. This also applies to buying services like car or pet insurance. Your dog, cat, rabbit, or whatever pet you have, deserves the best treatment. However. not everybody can afford those expensive vet bills, so choosing the best insurance for your pet can literally save its life.
I’d say that you need to look for the best cat insurance when your cat is still a kitten. youngsters have better chances to smaller insurance premiums and you may also obtain some waivers.

Are Pet Meds Online Safe To Buy?

Posted by admin on 17 Oct 2008 | Tagged as: Pet Health

Pet meds online buying is a habit which can be good and can be bad in the same measure. If your pet has some chronic disease, then you probably know the pet meds you give him, so it is safe to buy the medication from online veterinary shops or pharmacies. However, I’d say that you need to be very careful and to check if the recipients are sealed when you get them. I don’t know about others, but I’m so afraid of counterfaits that I’d rather buy from brick and mortar pharmacies, than from pet meds online centers, no matter how nice and professional their websites may look.

Are You Buying Pet Meds Online Without Asking The Vet?

If you don’t know what your pet has, you should never attempt to treat him randomly, with products bought from pet meds online facilities. First of all, your cat, or dog, or whatever other animal, cannot tell you exactly what it hurts, so the situation is not similar to yours, when you have a headache and you just take some over the counter products and the pain goes away in a few hours. Pets need to be seen by a vet. Only medical staff can give you a pet meds rx prescription, if necessary. Besides, they know from experience and they can make analogies between cases. You surely didn’t have as many ill pets as a vet has consulted during his practice, so your attempt to use pet meds online orders would only be a more or less lucky guess.

Pet Health Insurance

Posted by admin on 12 Sep 2008 | Tagged as: Pet insurance

While most of us have a health insurance for ourselves, not so many people think to get health insurance for their dogs, or cats, or for any other pets they may have. Pet health insurance can be very useful, because we all know how big veterinary bills can be in some situations. Big or small, we make sacrifices to pay them, because we care about our pets and we want them to be healthy. I would never spare efforts to heal my cat, if necessary, and you can be sure I’d try to get her the best treatments I can get. Pets are members of the family, aren’t they?

Pet Health Insurance Can Be Cheap

When you decide to get your pet health insurance, do some preliminary research before making up your mind, as you may have pleasant surprises. Prices and premiums are different from an insurance company to another, so comparisons are more than welcome. If you are busy, you can contact some pet insurance brokers and ask them to give you advice regarding the best option ofr your pet. Brokers are working free of charge for you, as they take their commissions from the insurance companies. They would ask you for details regarding your pet’s age, medical history, living conditions, and then they’d come back to you with several proposals of pet health insurance which you’ll be able to choose from.

Getting insurance for pets was mostly unknown until quite recently. However, people realized that pets deserve the best health care and conditions, just like humans do, so this is how pet health insurance companies started to appear, with various offers and insurance variants.

Tips For Pet Health Insurance Comparisons

When you compare different insurance plans for your pet, don’t forget to scour the web for promotions, special discounts or coupon codes. The competition in the health insurance sector is fierce, therefore companies usually give such discounts in order to attract more clients. There are also promotional offers for the second or for the third pet, so if you have more than one in your household, you may also consider that in your quest.

Russian Blue Kittens Directly From a Breeder

Posted by admin on 14 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: Cat Breeds

One of my friends is a Russian Blue cats breeder. Her cattery, Cendre de Roses, is amazing, all cats are smart and sweet, and it’s a pleasure to watch them playing together. My little cat comes from this cattery, too.

My friend has several fresh new litters of Russian Blue kittens, both boys and girls, so in case anybody is interested, you can apply for a kitten on the cattery’s website, by clicking here.

Like all cat breeders, she’s very fond of her tiny kittens, so she’s giving them only to people carefully selected. First of all, she’s not allowing the kittens to be transported by plane, so those of you who want a kitten have to be located in Europe (we are in Romania). The second step is to have a short interview with my friend, during which she will decide if you are able to take care of a pet or not. I’m sure all my readers here have at least one pet, or in any case they are perfectly able to take care of one, so this shouldn’t be a problem at all.

Now, the best part: here are a few photos of the tiny Russian Blue kittens which are looking for some good parents:

Talking cats

Posted by admin on 24 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Cats Small Talk

Taking cats are rather cartoon characters than real life pets. At least this is the first thought that comes to my mind when I hear the words. Nevertheless, I have to admit that I have a dialog with my cat, in which she knows how to tell me what she wants in a very suggestive manner. Like all talking cats, my cat has a fabulous body language and her voice is an efficient instrument of expressing her feelings.

Talking Cats or Meowing Humans?

When I think back to the days when I was trying to tame the beast, when I attempted the clicker training until she refused the treats and treated me with her back side, I feel like smiling. Why? Because two years later, instead of having a trained, talking cat, we ended up by her having a talking cat language master :) . Isn’t this funny? I know the meaning of so many meows of her, that I could write a dictionary (if only I knew how to spell cattish).

A city cat would have different sounds than a countryside cat. An indoor cat would meow like “please, open that door for me quicker!”, while a night cat would climb on the house roof and cry out loud in the night, like a rudimentary cat telegraph, transmitting messages over the hills.

There’s one common point of all taking cats: a cat in heat. Cats in heat would always have the same call for tomcats which can drive you crazy and sleepless. Of course, cat neutering has a heavy word in this conversation, as it may neutralize cat aggressive behavior especially in male cats.

Caring for every member of the family: Sainsbury Pet Insurance

Pets do naughty things and very often they get injured. If your pet gets sick or suffers an accident, you shall take care of it, by going to the vet and providing all the help you are able to. It is normal, as your pet is part of your family. Such vet interventions can be very costly. Aren’t your worries enough? Why worry about money for the vet’s bills which can be huge sometimes? You can consider to get a pet insurance, like Sainsbury’s Pet Insurance.

Sainsbury pet insurance is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK, which makes it a certitude that you’ll get the money in the unlikely event of your pet injury.

I’ve looked around to see what’s available and I discovered that Sainsbury Pet Insurance comes with 10% discount if you make it online. Who doesn’t like discounts of all kinds? Please tell me then, why are the shops so crowded in several periods of year, usually after big holidays? Why wouldn’t this joy of savings apply also to pet insurance, or to insurance in general? Insurance is expensive, and many times you just pay the premiums and nothing happens, the event you are insured for doesn’t occur. Of course this should make you happy, but one probably cannot stop from thinking that insurance is a waste of money.

Sainsbury Pet Insurance Benefits

  1. In case of pet illness or accident, the vet fees are covered up to the amount of £6,500
  2. If you pay your premiums on time, you’ll get coverage for your pet’s treatment no matter how long it may take to get well
  3. A Sainsbury pet insurance grants you help with the cost of getting back stolen pets or lost ones
  4. Sainsbury pet insurance covers vet’s fees regardless your pet’s age
  5. Free 12 months Petback Protect from missing Pets Bureau
  6. £20 worth of Sainsbury’s vouchers

UK is not a very big country, but their inhabitants surely have a lot of pets. Many people live in houses, so they have at least one dog and one cat nearby, and probably some of them have two cats. UK is very expensive, and so are the services there, including the vet fees, therefore a Cat Health Problem Guide could be useful to save some money on the vet visits by learning how to care for them in the best possible way. So, the last thing in the world you want is to get sick or get one of your pets ill. Besides the sorrow and the mess, you’d have to take a lot of cash out of your pockets. It is normal in such circumstances that many UK residents get pet insurance.

This could be one of the best options of UK pet insurance: Sainsbury.
